TEAM

The Map Services team located in Japan and USA, is a culturally diverse team developing software for autonomous driving (AD) and advanced driver assistance (ADAS) systems. Our experts develop cutting-edge technology for the next-generation AD/ADAS platform, building components deployed to both cloud and vehicles. The team is responsible for the in-vehicle map servicing architecture, efficient processing of map data, and providing the map data to the AD/ADAS applications. We apply state-of-the-art technology, write high quality safety-critical code that gets deployed to production.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
• An experienced Senior Software Engineer with > 5 years of experience.
• Expert knowledge in writing modern, high-quality, safe, production ready software.
• A great team player with passion to innovate and deliver products to internal and external customers..
• Advanced experience in at least one of the following domains: Geospatial, Navigation systems, or Automotive development processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Design, architect and implement components integrating map data throughout Autonomous Driving and post processing systems.
    • Integration and qualification of software modules in terms of safety, performance and computing resources.
    • Reviewing and approving deliveries according to the specifications, requirements and milestones.
    • Oversee, monitor and optimize computing budgets of the software stack.
    • Team mentorship, guidance, technical leadership and decision making.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience in Python and software development best practices.
    • Strong experience in modern C++ development (C++14 or higher).
    • Experience with data modeling and specifications.
    • Experience in designing software architectures and bringing them to production.
    • Strong communication and cross-functional dependency management skills.
    • Ability to independently make decisions based on project priorities and scope.

Nice to Haves

    • Experience in Automotive-related mapping applications, such as navigation or ADAS (NDS classic, NDS.Live, OpenDRIVE, ADASIS).
    • Familiarity with python libraries such as numpy, networkx, pandas.
    • Experience with cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code.
    • Experience with build automation software, such as CMake or Bazel.
    • Experience working in large, distributed international teams.
    • Experience shipping Automotive software to production.
    • Basic level Japanese.

For positions based in Palo Alto, CA, the base pay for this position ranges from $140,000- $230,000 a year.

Your base salary is one part of your total compensation. We offer a base salary, short term and long term incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package. The total compensation offered to an employee will be dependent upon the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and level.
