Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$43,000 – $100,320

Internship Overview:

You will be part of a growing and dynamic Advanced Analytics and Data Sciences (AADS) team whose main goal is to develop algorithms and methods for discovery research, or methods to support research goals through advanced AI/ML. Multiple roles are available with projects in target identification, small/large molecule discovery, genetic medicine, and computer vision.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other analytics team members to review and provide feedback on the analytics work being done and be willing to seek feedback from other team members about your own work.
  • Stay current with respect to statistical/mathematical/AI modeling methodology to maintain proficiency in applying new and varied methods and to be competent in justifying methods selected.
  • Ensure timely and effective delivery of projects, address technical challenges, and ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Tackle technical challenges head-on, leverage innovative solutions to overcome obstacles, and drive project success.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in and attending school. PhD student with at least three years of completed graduate work in Statistics, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics/Applied Math, Computational Biology, or closely related field.

Desired Experience:

  • Deep and broad knowledge of statistical modeling, deep learning and data mining methods and tools
  • Proficiency in programming languages, e.g. Python, C++, R
  • Interpersonal communication skills for effective customer consultation
  • Teamwork and leadership skills
  • Self-management skills with a focus on results for timely and accurate completion of competing deliverables
  • Demonstrate good research skills by being up to date on new methodology. Eager to learn and innovate to maximize impact and benefit patients.
  • Deep expertise in one of the following (role dependent):
    • Protein language models, generative methods e.g. diffusion, multimodal learning, geometric deep learning, graph representation learning, etc.
    • Graph neural networks and/or large language models, training transformer models on molecular datasets such as SMILES/SELFIES, familiarity with cheminformatics toolkit and libraries such as RDKit.
    • Computer vision, image analysis, self-supervised learning, phenotypic profiling, cell segmentation, digital pathology.
    • Develop and implement multi-modal language models integrating genomics, transcriptomics, methylomics, proteomics, and epigenetics data.
