Description
This position is responsible assisting in the management of merchandise of the store at the Japan Pavilion. The position ensures the store has excellent Japanese merchandise so Guests can enjoy these products.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Replenish inventory by placing orders for import & domestic merchandise.
- Develop new product vendors.
- Manage inventory by price adjustments for slower-moving merchandise.
- Manage profit margin by negotiating with vendors and conducting price adjustments.
- Collaborate with store managers to achieve higher sales & guest satisfaction.
- Obtain necessary documents for Product Safety Regulations.
- Merchandise as following the merchandising budget and ensuring all Store sales goals are met.
- Align with the Manager – Store Operations and employees on sales tactics regarding merchandise.
- Plan to merchandise for sales events.
- Optimize the logistical procurement of goods to avoid “out of stock” situations.
- Control the stock on hand by carefully analyzing daily sales reports and inventory control.
- Determines what information, skills, and training are needed to ensure each Guest has a “touching” and “moving” experience at the point of sale and then delivers that to employees.
- Learn how to use Inventory/POS.
- Assist and supervise the annual physical inventory
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or similar degree
- 2 to 4 years of Merchandise purchasing or
- At least 1 year of Mitsukoshi
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Able to communicate effectively in English with supervisors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
- Able to work effectively and relate well with others Including supervisors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
- Able to do basic arithmetic which includes subtraction, addition, division, multiplication and counting of items. The employee must also be able to analyze and solve simple problems
- Able to read and comprehend written information
- Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office software, Word and Excel
