First Hawaiian Bank is currently seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, organized Commercial Banking Officer to join our International Banking Department in Downtown Honolulu. In this role, you’ll responsible to provide financial advice and counsel to the Bank’s potential and existing business customers who have ties with Japan and are active in Hawaii, Guam and CNMI. Sell the Bank’s products and services, which includes informing customers of benefits and features. Actively refer customers to other areas of the Bank such as Treasury Management Solutions, Merchant Service Sales, Corporate Card, Wealth Management Group, Personal Trust Division, Private Banking Division, etc.

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM (hours may vary)

Compensation

The annual salary range for this role is $64,168 – $87,000/yr; commensurate with experience.

The successful candidate will be hired for the level of the position that aligns with their experience.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Post baccalaureate degree (desirable).
  • Must be registered as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS).
  • 3 years of experience in small business, commercial and/or corporate banking or equivalent work experience required.
  • 2 years of experience working in a bilingual (English and Japanese) environment required.
  • Supervisory experience desirable.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write fluently in English and Japanese with a strong understanding of grammar, vocabulary, and cultural nuances.
  • Able to plan, organize and budget.
  • Possesses project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to handle confidential matters judiciously.
  • Able to inform, persuade and convince customers of the perceived value of products and services.
  • Possesses understanding of intermediate to advanced accounting.
  • Possesses strong sales and service orientation and ability to identify customer needs and related bank services.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines to completion in a timely manner with quality results.
  • Strong attention to detail with high levels of accuracy as needed to create quality deliverables.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to proficiently use Microsoft 365 suite of applications and Bank system applications.
  • Proven successful collaborator among peers, colleagues, and management.
