JOB SUMMARY:

Bartender creates unforgettable dining experiences for our guests by crafting exceptional cocktails, providing attentive service, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere at our bar. With your expertise in mixology and dedication to customer satisfaction, you will contribute to the success of Zuma as a premier dining destination.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare and serve a wide variety of cocktails, spirits, wines, and other beverages to guests, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality in every drink
  • Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, taking drink orders, making recommendations, and providing information about the menu offerings
  • Create innovative and visually appealing cocktails using fresh ingredients, house-made syrups, and premium spirits, following Zuma’s recipes and standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including bar tools, glassware, and garnishes, in compliance with health and safety regulations and company standards
  • Monitor inventory levels of beverages, ingredients, and supplies, and communicate any shortages or replenishment needs to the bar manager or supervisor
  • Follow alcohol service guidelines, verifying the age of guests, monitoring alcohol consumption, and refusing service to intoxicated individuals when necessary
  • Process guest payments accurately, handling cash and credit card transactions securely and following established procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including dining tables, service stations, and side stations, in accordance with health and safety standards
  • Assist in opening and closing duties, including setup and breakdown of the bar area, restocking supplies, and completing side work tasks as assigned
  • Follow Zuma’s service standards and protocols, including uniform guidelines, grooming standards, and service etiquette
  • Attend pre-shift meetings and training sessions to stay informed about menu changes, specials, and promotions, and to enhance product knowledge and service skills
  • Operate ethically to protect the image of the company
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested

JOB KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Previous experience as a Bartender in a high volume, high-end restaurant, hotel, bar, or hospitality establishment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, and mixology techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive work environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs; Ability to stand for prolong periods of time and climb steps regularly
  • Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment
