About Us: At Gyu-Kaku, we’re not just serving Japanese BBQ; we’re creating a feast for the senses. Our Cerritos location is bustling with energy, flavor, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. We’re seeking a Kitchen Supervisor who is ready to roll up their sleeves and lead our kitchen to greatness!

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the Team: Oversee and inspire our back-of-house team. Manage scheduling, training, and performance to ensure everyone is working towards a common goal. Mentor your team on the art of cooking, portion control, and presentation standards.
  • Maintain Culinary Excellence: Conduct regular taste tests and visual inspections to ensure our dishes meet the highest standards. Monitor food quality and consistency to keep our guests coming back for more.
  • Ensure Cleanliness and Safety: Uphold impeccable standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and service areas. Ensure that equipment and employee appearances reflect our commitment to quality.
  • Manage Inventory and Costs: Forecast and manage food inventory efficiently. Ensure that all food deliveries meet our quality standards, and handle invoices and storage with precision.
  • Champion Brand Standards: Represent the Gyu-Kaku brand with pride. Implement and enforce company policies and procedures to maintain our reputation for excellence.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience and Expertise: Minimum of 2 years as a kitchen supervisor in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant. Experience in an Asian tabletop BBQ concept is a major plus!
  • Culinary Skills: Strong understanding of food costs, scheduling, purchasing, labor cost control, and presentation. Proficiency in food safety and sanitation is essential.
  • Leadership and Communication: Exceptional leadership, motivational, and people skills. Proficiency in English/Spanish is a bonus.
  • Flexibility: Must be available to work varied hours, including nights, weekends,

and holidays as needed.

  • Certifications: Food Manager Certified or Food Handlers Certified.
