Job Description
Program Overview:
The Lilly Scholars at Purdue internship program is a novel and exciting opportunity to provide Lilly Scholars early exposure to pharmaceutical manufacturing to help inform and motivate their educational and career pursuits. The internship will provide scholars the unique opportunity to work in Lilly’s manufacturing areas after their first year of college. The internship program will allow Lilly to connect and build relationships with this group of early talent as well as provide a transparent experience for the scholars to experience our culture and see the variety of career paths available at Lilly.
In summary, it is the total overall experience. The people, the projects, and the activities provide a wonderful landscape of learning and platform for strengthening skills. Scholars will get the opportunity to work with highly capable leaders and mentors who have developed the ability to provide valuable coaching and feedback.
Internship Experience:
Each scholar will be assigned to a cross-functional team supporting manufacturing where they will support and experience the various roles involved with pharmaceutical manufacturing including Engineering, Technical Services Manufacturing Sciences, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Health, Safety and Environmental, Supply Chain, and other functions that work together on process support teams. Scholars will have the opportunity to experience the day-to-day operations as well as work on specific assignments and projects under the direction and guidance of others. Scholars will engage in problem solving and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in various aspects of manufacturing support and actively contribute to the manufacturing organization, build a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the role talent plays at creating solutions for Eli Lilly and Company. Scholars will interact with other manufacturing professionals, including Lilly senior management. Professional development and social events will be held throughout the internship. At the conclusion of the work period, each scholar will present their project highlights, findings, and general internship accomplishments to manufacturing professionals and leaders.
Key Objectives:
• Work under the guidance and direction of a supervisor and mentor to complete defined tasks and progress a project in manufacturing and quality
• Document and present project accomplishments
• Gain exposure and awareness of pharmaceutical manufacturing roles
Requirements:
• Currently attending Purdue as a Lilly Scholar and have completed at least first year in a BS program
• Must be available to start on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
Additional Information:
• Positions located in Indianapolis and Lebanon, IN
• Lilly arranges various intern activities such as social events, tours, lunch and learns, etc. to provide opportunities for socializing, professional development, and learning more about Lilly and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Interns will receive competitive compensation and free parking at their work site, as well as access to Lilly’s LIFE fitness center and bike garage
• Lilly will provide housing at reduced cost to students
