Now Hiring: Mechanical Engineer – On-site at a Leading Japanese Automotive Manufacturer (Princeton, IN)
Are you a mechanical engineering expert with strong hands-on experience in building system startups, commissioning, and construction oversight? We’re looking for a highly skilled professional to lead mechanical installations, safety compliance, and contractor coordination at a major automotive manufacturing facility in Princeton, IN.
What You’ll Do:
✅ Lead mechanical & electrical building system startups and commissioning
✅ Review and approve engineering design drawings, submittals, and RFIs
✅ Ensure compliance with OSHA, LOTO, arc flash safety, and hazardous energy controls
✅ Coordinate with contractors and vendors for equipment testing, installation, and handover
✅ Inspect work progress, ensuring adherence to quality and project specifications
✅ Manage weekend and plant shutdown projects with contractors and plant teams
✅ Oversee mechanical contractor activities to meet milestones and coordination needs
✅ Prepare status reports and provide project feedback for continuous improvement
Must-Have Qualifications:
✔ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
✔ Strong knowledge of mechanical safety standards & OSHA requirements
✔ Expertise in building codes & industry standards (IBC, NEC, NFPA, ASME, ASHRAE, etc.)
✔ Experience in construction administration & project scheduling
✔ Ability to conduct mechanical system inspections and provide technical feedback
✔ Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
✔ Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects efficiently
Job Details:
Location: Princeton, IN (On-site from Day 1)
Duration: 12 months (possible extension)
Overtime: Up to 25% (weekdays, weekends, shutdowns, holidays, odd hours)
Travel: 20% (domestic)
PPE Required: Steel-toed shoes, hard hat, safety glasses (provided on-site if needed)
