Job Summary

Performs a variety of technical payroll accounting duties to assure district employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner; prepares and processes regular and supplemental payrolls; processes, calculates, verify and update records with a variety of payroll data.

Minimum Requirements:
Any combination equivalent to sufficient experience, training and/or education to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above. Typically, this would be gained through graduation from high school and three years payroll, accounting or related experience.
10-key Certificate: Minimum 140 net keystrokes per minute with 90% accuracy (see information below).
Transportation:
Have a reliable means of transportation and/or driver’s license.
Desirable Qualifications:
Classes and/or seminars in bookkeeping, accounting, or related field.
Written and oral proficiency in a second language.

A review of applicants’ experience and qualifications will be conducted. Based on the evaluation, those whose qualifications best meet the current needs of the district will be invited to participate in the next step of the selection process. The examination will include a multiple-choice written test and a qualifications appraisal interview. Qualified candidates will be provided with more details at the appropriate time.

Probationary period: 130 days of paid service.

After an offer of employment, a candidate must submit evidence of freedom from tuberculosis, fingerprint clearance with the Department of Justice, and a pre-employment physical exam (district-paid).
