Job Purpose
Tokyo Anime Center is committed to bringing Japanese Pop Culture to the US offering a fun and exciting experience for both locals and tourists. We pride ourselves on creating an engaging atmosphere where our guests can enjoy Gashapon machines and Anime photo experiences as well as learn more about the latest Japanese Anime. We’re looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Store Manager to lead our team and ensure our store operates smoothly.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and staff members.
- Enthusiasm for Japanese POP culture
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Oversee the daily operations of the store, ensuring it opens and closes on time.
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment.
- Learn how to operate all the machines.
- Technical ability to execute simple repairs when needed
- Restock and maintain machines to ensure they’re in optimal working condition.
- Manage a team of 6-8 employees, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Conduct interviews and hire new team members as needed.
- Develop and manage the store schedule.
- Provide monthly reports on store performance and inventory.
- Work to meet or exceed all goals set by the company
- Maintain a clean and safe store environment in compliance with state and company health and safety regulations
- Address customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Effectively communicate store updates, concerns, and progress with management
- Other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 3 years of proven experience in a store managerial role, preferably in retail or entertainment.
- High energy with a passion for customer service.
- Ability to think creatively and solve problems effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong cash handling skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with customers, staff, and management
- Excellent customer service skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Organizational and time management skills
- Strong leadership and management abilities
- Ability to effectively write, communicate, and present information professionally
- Proficient in computer use such as spreadsheets, presentations, email, etc.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring & training, planning, assigning and directing work; measuring and evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Physical Demands
- Walking/Standing for up to 100% of the time (8+ hours per day)
- Lifting to 25 lbs. regularly
- Bending, stooping and kneeling
- Pushing and pulling
