TEAM

The Arene Project Management Office (PMO) fosters tracking of well-defined, well-scoped and well-planned Projects to agreed upon budget, schedule, and quality-driven requirements. The team works closely with Customers, Engineering and Business organizations to coordinate the execution to ship products on schedule, on budget while meeting all compliance requirements (quality, safety, security and privacy). The team provides an unbiased view of the status of the various projects to keep us accountable. The team also monitors the results and measures whether the intended business value was achieved.

You will report to the Manager of North America PMO, and the role is hybrid – 3 days in office per week.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for a project management professional who brings experience building vehicles or other complex hardware / software products in a dynamic, development and production environment. You live and breathe tracking processes and interdisciplinary problem solving to make sure complex technology programs get delivered on time and as specified, and have experience working in ambiguous, cross-functional environments. You must be familiar with creating and driving technology projects that get delivered on time and as specified while working with various stakeholders to create visibility. You are comfortable navigating the ambiguity of a fast-moving environment.

This position requires a passion for delivering safety critical software system solutions. You will collaborate within engineering and across the Woven by Toyota product organization on programs that enable us to scale Woven by Toyota’s cloud and on-vehicle software platforms. The ability to coordinate across time zones and cultures is a key aspect of this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Focus Area Level

    • Partner with the engineering and product owners to structure work and manage risk in technical projects across the Arene Platform group
    • Manage all facets of the project lifecycle including Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing
    • Co-create and maintain documented plan of record at the project level using agile methodologies
    • Drive execution of plans via diligent and timely tracking in Jira and dependency management with other teams
    • Own issues raised to the PMO and engage required stakeholders to drive to resolution
    • Present project status to specific committees
    • Lead teams to develop innovative solutions and products
    • Establish project metrics dashboards to track progress, issues and risks
    • Document meeting minutes and decisions made
    • Create standard Project Management artifacts that support development
    • Manage relationships with customers to improve the level of service delivery solutions
    • Organization Level
    • Enable teams to execute effectively by efficiently coordinating between the Arene Platform teams and other functional groups
    • Integrate roadmaps across functional, geographical and cultural boundaries – as well as across multiple company relationships
    • Lead iterative delivery of strategic cross-functional initiatives from concept to ship, through focus, transparency, communication, visibility, and accountability
    • Identify and resolve systemic issues impacting engineering and proactively take action to resolve
    • Manage Arene Platform team execution and delivery across multiple time zones
    • Partner with engineering, product, and business leadership to build highly collaborative teams and to enhance communication across teams and stakeholders
    • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Successful professionals on our team should be able to demonstrate these skills on a daily basis:
    • 5+ years experience with project management, preferably in one of the following fields: mechanical, electrical, aerospace, systems, or software engineering
    • Proven ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams and projects in situations of ambiguity, with only high level direction
    • Experience in agile software development
    • Experience working with cross-functional teams and ability to moderate technical discussions
    • Able to influence, negotiate and inspire others in a matrixed environment
    • Organized and efficient, excellent time management skills, attention to detail
    • Great English communication skills, both oral and written
    • Extensive experience using project management tools
    • Analytical reasoning skills
    • Experience with teams operating across time zones
    • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Experience with the following practices, technologies and tools is valued, but not strictly required. We focus on growing as a team and will help each other learn these skills.
    • Bachelors in Engineering or Computer Science or related fields
    • Experience in Automotive processes and practices
    • Proficiency in programming languages and coding, such as Python and JavaScript.
    • JIRA, Confluence Power User
    • PMP or other Project Management certifications
    • Advanced knowledge of the full life-cycle of product development
    • Bilingual in English and Japanese communication
    • HELPFUL BACKGROUNDS
