Summary:

The Shogun Teppanyaki Chef is responsible for preparing and serving food on a Teppanyaki grill while providing a memorable dining experience for guests. This role requires exceptional cooking skills, creativity, and the ability to entertain and engage with guests. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and a passion for Japanese-style cooking.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook food on a Teppanyaki grill in front of guests, demonstrating culinary skills and techniques.
  • Engage and entertain guests while cooking, creating an enjoyable and interactive dining experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Teppanyaki station, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines while handling and preparing food.
  • Assist with other kitchen duties as needed, including cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and organizing supplies.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Japanese-style cooking is required.
  • Ability to stand for the entire shift and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong communication and people skills with the ability to entertain and interact with guests.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of food preparation and presentation.

Education and Certification(s)/License(s):

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One-year certificate from a college or technical school in culinary arts (preferred).
  • At least six months of related experience in a professional kitchen or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
