Social Worker, Grand Forks, ND

Grand Forks Air Force Base is located just outside Grand Forks, ND. The city of Grand Forks is situated in Grand Forks County in northeast North Dakota. The city’s name comes from its location at the confluence of the Red River and the Red Lake River. Grand Forks is the state’s third-largest city after Fargo and Bismarck. The city is also home to the University of North Dakota – one of the state’s oldest higher educational institutions. Grand Forks is situated in the flat Red River Valley on the western shores of the Red River of the North. Along with East Grand Forks, its twin city, Grand Forks serves as the principal city of the Grand Forks Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is also referred to as Greater Grand Forks.

You can shop till you drop at big box Southside stores and unique Downtown boutiques. Cheer on championship sports teams at Ralph Engelstad Arena or Grammy winning entertainers at the Alerus Center. Check out a Picasso hanging in the North Dakota Museum of Art or say hello to Dali at the Empire Arts Center Gallery. Paddle your way up the Red River, then take a stroll or roll on The Greenway. If you’ve got the time, we’ve got lots of SimplyGrand ways to fill your days and nights, too.

Grand Forks boasts wonderful outdoor activities. Every day is (literally) a walk in the park. Lincoln Drive, University and Riverside offer paths lined with beautiful flowers, foliage and trees, while Sertoma boasts a picturesque Japanese Garden and great birdwatching opportunities. Strap on the inline skates or just use plain old sneakers to make your way through The Greenway Trail System. In colder months, however, we find ice skates and snowshoes work best. Flowing waters or frozen solid, our two rivers provide opportunities for some of the best fishing, kayaking and snowmobiling around. Winter, spring, summer or fall…you can always call on us for SimplyGrand times in the great outdoors!
