What You Do

Initially will lead the establishment and ramp-up of manufacturing at a large, high-volume, cutting-edge automotive manufacturing operation.

As a part of the above, and on an ongoing basis will also:

  • Establish strong team member relations, at all levels and provide support for people development, coaching and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion
  • Collaborate with international team members from Mazda and Toyota or, other customers
  • Design, develop, implement, and teach training content that develops leaders across the company and ensures a strong talent pipeline.
  • Engage with subject matter experts to support the design of training content.
  • Create and maintain training schedules to ensure a robust, diverse training schedule. Coordinate, as applicable, with internal leadership and external vendors to meet training and development objectives.
  • Identify and implement training and development best practices to ensure MTM is an industry leader in development of all leaders.
  • Establish strong leader relations across the company and provide support for development, coaching, and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion. Build two-way communication between Learning and Development and the business.
  • Work closely with Japanese advisors from Mazda and Toyota to incorporate content from parent companies.
  • Collaborate with learning management team to design, facilitate, or support online training opportunities.
  • Manage training requirements records locally, nationally, and internationally according to industry best practices.
  • Provide updates to the company on alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop and execute strategies to meet departmental and business unit training objectives.
  • Establish KPI’s and improve company development activities driving continuous improvement.
  • Must be able to work independently to develop solutions for complex problems based on facts, experience, and judgment.
  • Ability to handle many projects at once; can coordinate teams of people and give clear direction.
  • Maintain training documents, records, and databases in a timely manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the department
  • Ability to work outside of typical business hours and travel as needed (domestically and internationally)

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma and/or GED.
  • Working knowledge of developing and facilitating Training and Development programs across a broad curriculum and broad employee base
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated ability in strategy development and execution
  • Proven ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to coach or teach others and guide the talent development process of core leadership

What Will Set You Apart

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Business, or Communications
  • 3 plus years manufacturing experience
  • Dynamic interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence senior leaders to ensure student participation
  • Exceptional understanding of fundamental skills, problem solving, standardized work, and role-based training
  • All in with Mendomi mindset
