Software Engineer (Intern to FTE) Overview

The Technology team is actively looking for Software Engineers. This includes several subtypes including:
• Full Stack Engineers
• DevSecOps Engineer
• Quality Engineer

• Android Developer
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and leadership to turn ideas and concepts into a solution
- Develop with a variety of development frameworks and languages. e.g. NodeJS, React, Python, R, GitHub
- Understand and challenge business goals and user stories, following a SCRUM Agile approach to rapidly develop a proof of concepts
- Implement solutions following a Minimum Viable Product approach
- Formulate and implement test strategies through the release cycle
- Ensure documented processes and procedures are in place for all activities to meet quality standards

- As a Software Engineer, you will bring your technical experience to design and build applications that exceed product goals.
- With an approach that accepts failure, and ability to work in ambiguity, you will use your object-oriented development principles to reach creative product solutions to deliver on time.
- By enhancing your development experience, you will ensure the applications achieve the optimal performance, quality, and responsiveness.
- Using your problem-solving skills, you will strive to quickly identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs for optimal user experience.
- With an attention to detail and proactivity you will seek to maintain existing applications via debugging and continuous updates, ensuring code quality, organization, and automation.
- As a superb communicator with strong interpersonal skills, you will work and collaborate effectively on a team including with remote team members, to define, design and ship new features.
- With a high level of curiosity and bigger picture thinking, you will conduct external research and innovation to evolve existing and create new solutions.
Upon acceptance of the Technologist role, you will join our 2-year Eli Lilly Information Technology Experience (ELITE) program which provides you with mentoring, introductory technical skills, transferable leadership skills, applied opportunities, and customer experiences. This program is the first step in our People Empowerment Program for Technology, which exists to engage, energize, and encourage all Technology employees. Through these programs, you will establish relationships outside of your current business area that will help you deliver in your current role and explore future opportunities.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in and attending school, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering/Technology, Information Technology, Security or another relevant computer and technical program with expected graduation by August 2025.
- Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.
- Successful Completion of Lilly Internship
Desired Experience
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the technology capabilities listed Solid skills in problem analysis and problem solving
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Proven teamwork/interpersonal skills
- Leadership experience inside and/or outside the classroom
- Familiarity with design, development, and operational methodologies (I.e. Agile, Waterfall, ITIL)
- Passion for working on a team from a diverse group of backgrounds
- Familiarity with gathering and writing technical requirements
