Job Description

The position supports a three-year research project funded by the National Science Foundation titled Indigenous Northern Landscapes, Visual Repatriation, and Collaborative Knowledge Exchange. The Project Manager will work directly with and report to the Principal Investigator at Syracuse University.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) with 3 – 5 combination of education and experience.

Job Specific Qualifications

  • Fluency in both English and Japanese strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the project’s departmental research administrator to track grant-funded budgets, disbursements, and expenditures.
  • Manage project documentation and reporting.
  • Organize logistics and travel itineraries for the research team and collaborators.
  • Coordinate with local vendors in Japan, Alaska, and East-Coast destinations for event management.
  • Provide on-site support for the research team for the duration of Japanese-speaking collaborators’ visit to SU (approximately one week per year).
  • Other duties as assigned.
