Oiles America Corporation, an innovator in self-lubricating bearing technologies, is seeking a Forklift Operator to work from 8 am to 5 pm at our North Carolina facility. The ideal candidate is responsible for transporting materials, shipping products to customers, and supporting various warehouse processes. This position requires a blend of shipping, material handling, and forklift operating skills to ensure smooth and accurate logistics operations. Are you the one we are looking for?

Qualification Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience in manufacturing environment with experience in shipping processes and procedures
  • Forklift certification required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Familiar with ERP software
  • Strong ability to interpret work instructions, procedures, and labels
  • Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, dividing & multiplying)
  • Excellent multitasking skills to handle various responsibilities simultaneously
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Effective written and oral communication skills for documentation and reporting

Essential Functions

Shipping:

  • Prepare outgoing shipments promptly, including palletizing, banding, and wrapping
  • Verify quantities against packing slips and labels for all outgoing freight
  • Ensure timely pickup of shipments by the correct carrier
  • Weigh and label shipments accurately as per requirements
  • Pick orders efficiently according to customer specifications
  • Load trucks with shipments securely

Material Handling:

  • Transport raw materials and finished goods as needed within the warehouse
  • Maintain proper follow-up on material movements and storage
  • Act as a backup for other warehouse positions during absences or peak periods

Administrative:

  • Complete material transfer sheets and material kit sheets accurately
  • Provide precise computer input for inventory tracking and transfer processes
  • Route transfer paperwork correctly to facilitate smooth operations

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure accurate delivery of materials to designated work centers
  • Perform 5S duties as assigned for maintaining a clean and organized workspace
  • Stop production or shipment if necessary to address quality issues promptly
  • Complete maintenance checklist items for forklift inspections as per guidelines

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move a variety of materials both manually and with material handling equipment
  • Ability to manually lift up to 50 lbs unassisted if needed
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, stoop and bend to perform duties related to shipping/receiving
  • Safely operate a sit down and stand-up forklift
  • Ability to distinguish colors for visual processes
  • Ability to safely use box cutter, shrink wrap machine and other related equipment
  • Ability to hear buzzers, horns and other sounds related to warehouse activities
