This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from ikigaiConnections.com or NihongoJobs.com (the “Sites”).

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you visit either of the Sites, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Sites, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Sites. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

    – “Log files” track actions occurring on the Sites, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.

When visitors leave comments on the Sites, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you leave a comment on our Sites you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. You never need to provide personally identifiable information to search for jobs on our Site. Logging into the Site, and providing personal information, is always optional for you (although logging in does give job seekers access to job alerts).

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Sites (including processing your payment information and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations).  Additionally, we use this Order Information to:

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Sites (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Sites, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

Some Important Tips To Use When Dealing With Prospective Employers

  • We will never request your social security number, and you should never give out your social security number to a prospective employer.
  • Never provide credit card or bank numbers or engage in a monetary transaction of any sort with a prospective employer through the Sites.
  • Do not provide any non-work related personal information (i.e. eye color, marital status, etc.) over the phone or online.

CHILDREN UNDER THIRTEEN

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen. If you are under the age of thirteen, you must ask your parent or guardian for permission to use this website.

Opt-Out & Unsubscribe

We respect your privacy and give you an opportunity to opt-out of receiving announcements of certain information. Users may opt-out of receiving any or all communications from us by by completing this form and specifying “Opt Out.”

DO NOT TRACK

Please note that we do not alter our Site’s data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.

DATA RETENTION

When you place an order through the Sites, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.
