Ricoh Electronics, Inc. (REI) is looking for a bilingual (Japanese/English) Controls Engineer to join our Thermal Engineering team. The Controls Engineer will use their knowledge in control systems, automation, and instrumentation to optimize industrial processes, enhance operational efficiency, ensure safety and reliability, and drive technological innovation across various processes. This position will use their Japanese/English bi-lingual language skills to communicate with global teams for technology strategies and alignment. The Controls Engineer will:

  • Develop control system architectures, including hardware and software components, based on project requirements and specifications.
  • Design and implement control algorithms, such as PID controllers, state-space controllers, or advanced control techniques, to achieve desired system performance.
  • Write, debug, and test control software, including PLC programs, HMI applications.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot control system issues, identify root causes of problems, and implement corrective actions to ensure reliable operation.
  • Stay updated with advancements in control system technologies, industry trends, and best practices through self-directed learning, training programs, and participation in professional organizations.
