Job Description

Electrical Engineer

This position requires an active Public Trust clearance.

Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical systems and components. Works on a wide range of projects, including power distribution systems, control systems, and electronics. Applies techniques, theory precepts and practices in the electrical engineering field and related sciences and disciplines. Provides engineering support to apply architectural engineering methodologies and principles. Collaborates with other engineers and professionals to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. Possesses a strong knowledge of circuit design, power systems, and energy efficiency.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Electrical Engineer: $108,000-$110,000 yearly

Housing allowance to be included upon approval.

Pay commensurate with experience.

Electrical Engineer Responsibilities Include:

  • Provides preliminary designs and calculations for electrical systems, components, and products to ensure design feasibility and performance optimization.
  • Diagnoses electrical systems, investigates options, and recommends corrective action for problem identification and resolution.
  • Defines/develops engineering project requirements and translates them into Performance Work Statements/Statements of Work along with estimates.
  • Manages and conducts comprehensive technical review of A&E Electrical PRCs, studies, reports and analysis.
  • Develops project schedules, cost estimates, and statements of work for small projects or portions of large complex projects.
  • Remains aware of emerging technologies to stay current in the field.
  • Participates in studies and economic analysis of new proposals to determine feasibility of construction, renovation, or modification.
  • Performs standard operating and maintenance tasks to encompass repair, upgrade, and operation of facilities and utilities.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders, architects, engineers, and construction managers in the drafting of requirements ensuring compliance with regulation and may support project inspections.
  • Ability to draft documents to include official correspondence, newsletter items, responses to routine inquiries, reports, letters, briefing slides, and other electrical engineering documents.
  • Oversees the development, evaluation or review of plans and criteria for a variety of activities; assesses the feasibility of proposed plans, projects, and equipment.
  • Performs data entry into and utilizes TRIRIGA for work-related requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations in all designs.
  • Conducts Quality Assurance reviews of ongoing engineering designs and calculations and provides reports and recommendations to the client.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and specifications.
  • Assists with the creation of detailed technical drawings, schematics, and models using CAD software.
  • Oversees prototype fabrication, testing, and evaluation to validate design concepts.
  • Identifies and resolves electrical issues through troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Aids in the identification, planning, development, preparation, scheduling, execution, tracking, and close-out of requirements.
  • Manages project timelines, budgets, and resources to achieve project goals.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Electrical Engineer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • 5 years of design experience in electrical systems.
  • Professional Engineer registration is desired.
  • Experience with federal contracts highly desired.
  • Experience in collecting data to address complex technical challenges, while adhering to project procedures and achieving established milestones.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of renewable energy technologies and their applications.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications, TRIRIGA (desired), VAST (desired), BUILDER SMS (desired), Tableau (desired), RSMeans Cost Books (desired).
  • Experience with Japanese standards is a plus.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
