Position Summary:

  • An Assistant Chief Administrator in Product Planning is a member of the Development Administration Group (DA) which is a key support team for the execution and delivery of all ongoing projects and technical activity. The main activity of this role will be centered around the forecasting, reporting, and management of program financials and budget. Support activity ranges from managing program timing, setting and facilitating gate reviews, ensuring collaboration with our group companies, and overall administration support for ongoing projects.

Qualifications/Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • Minimum 5 + years experience in Automotive R&D or equivalent is preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years experience in a finance / accounting role or equivalent is preferred
  • Bilingual (Japanese and English) is desired
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office / O365: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to perform in high-pressure environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Must have strong project management skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong organizational skills to track and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Forecast material and manhour budget for assigned projects
  • Track, consolidate and report R&D development cost
  • Act as point of contact for communication with Executive Committee
  • C oordinate development event schedules and gateways
  • Execute continuous improvement and Kaizen activities to support department efficiency
  • Be window to DA office in Japan and group companies for development related issues
  • Other duties as assigned
