Position Summary

SHMA is seeking a skilled Market Quality Engineer in Culver City, C.A, to review market complaints related to potential design or manufacturing issues. This role will be responsible for promoting the voice of the customer to drive vehicle quality improvements, while providing opportunities to expand technical knowledge and expertise.

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor market complaints and warranty claims to identify potential design or manufacturing issues.
  • Perform initial analysis of telematics data and customer complaints to detect vehicle-related problems.
  • Utilize data insights to support the evaluation and root cause analysis of issues.
  • Manage and maintain analysis equipment for accurate investigation of vehicle problems.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to conduct thorough investigations and identify problem areas.
  • Assist in determining root causes and developing countermeasures for design and factory-related issues.
  • Track and monitor the progress and effectiveness of implemented countermeasures.
  • Compile and share technical reports, summaries, and findings in departmental meetings.
  • Promote the voice of the customer to enhance overall vehicle quality and satisfaction.
  • Coordinate and manage warranty reimbursement claims with the vehicle manufacturing company.
  • Support the continuous improvement of vehicle quality by implementing strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all investigations and quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the automotive industry.
  • Previous experience at a Japanese company preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of problem resolution and quality improvement.
  • Proven experience in creating technical and process documentation.
  • Strong technical understanding of automotive features and functions.
  • Excellent skills in interpreting and communicating complex technical issues.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $124,000 to $138,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
