OMA is looking for a Junior Communications Officer to join our team in New York starting from October 2024. The team is responsible for communicating OMA New York’s work and thinking to global audiences.

You will assist the team in preparing press materials, lectures, marketing collateral, and social media content. In addition, you will be involved in day-to-day tasks such as handling media requests, monitoring press coverage, and maintaining in-house project documentation libraries and archives.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely and collaboratively with the partners leading OMA New York and contribute to the studio’s communication strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in architecture, journalism, communications, design, or art history
  • Familiarity of OMA’s projects
  • Knowledge and interest in the broader cultural and social contexts of architecture
  • Excellent verbal and written English; Japanese is a plus but not mandatory
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office, primarily PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, primarily InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Skills in photography and video editing and proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro are a plus
  • Proactive and self-directed with ability to work and communicate well within a team
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and efficient

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and archive press coverage and compile weekly reports
  • Maintain OMA New York’s contact database, project archive, and publication libraries
  • Assist in preparing press materials, including drafting project texts and press releases
  • Provide support for building openings, tours, and other related events
  • Assist in researching and preparing lectures, presentations, interview, and publications
  • Regularly update and produce text and visual materials for internal and external communication
  • Coordinate building photography and video shoots
