THE JOB:

As a Sushi Cook, you will be responsible preparing sushi and other Japanese dishes. You will also set the stage for guest experience with your welcoming smile and service. By understanding their unique stories and needs, you will own their experience to create WOW memories they will carry with them far and beyond their stay with us.

THE STARTING RATE: $24.9379 / Per Hour

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Apply advance knife skills required for making sushi and other Japanese dishes
  • Maintain up-to-date menu knowledge and ensure precise attention to plate presentation
  • Ensure the highest quality of food and address any inconsistencies
  • Regularly conduct inventory of designated food items and manage par levels
  • Maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring it is functioning correctly, and uphold cleanliness and sanitation in assigned work areas
  • Follow recipes as outlined by the Chef
  • Communicate any issues to the Room Chef or Sous Chef, detailing how they were resolved
  • Support with pantry and preparation area tasks

Restaurant Details:

  • Hours of Operation:
    • Sunday – Thursday: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
    • Friday – Saturday: 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM
    • Lounge: 5:00 PM – 12:00 AM
    • Live Entertainment/DJ: 8:30 PM – 12:30 AM
    • (May work before/after these times for opening and closing procedures)

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • One (1) year of previous sushi preparation experience
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Knowledge of health, safety and sanitation regulations
  • High school diploma, GED or educational equivalent
  • Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and all holidays

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Two (2) years of high-volume cooking experience
  • Previous sushi experience, preferably in a high-end or upscale setting
  • Demonstrated experience in fine dining establishments, showcasing an understanding of elevated culinary techniques and presentation
  • Comfortable working in a high-volume environment, maintaining efficiency without sacrificing quality
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring precise execution of sushi rolls and plate presentation
  • Passionate about cooking and sushi, with a deep appreciation for the artistry and tradition of Japanese cuisine
