THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The City of Baldwin Park is looking for their next Director of Public Works. The city is seeking a strong, solutions-oriented executive leader with the ability to motivate and connect with staff and successfully achieve organizational outcomes. The new Director will manage a department of 38 full-time employees and 11 part-time employees. The successful candidate will demonstrate ability to create innovative solutions to maintain infrastructure in a community focusing on redevelopment.

The Director of Public Works will build and maintain infrastructure, plan, organize, direct, and review the activities and operations of the Public Works Department, including, engineering, street maintenance, landscape maintenance, development and maintenance of facilities, fleet management and equipment maintenance; will coordinate assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies; and provide highly responsible administrative support to the Chief Executive Officer and the City Council. The Director receives administrative direction from the Chief Executive Officer and the City Council.

  • Bilingual pay of $150.00 /mo for Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Tagalog, and American Sign Language

Retiree Health

  • City will pay only the minimum employer contribution to CalPERS that is required by Government Code section 22892(b).

Work Week

  • 4/10 Work Schedule

Leaves

  • Vacation: Employees initially accrue 96 hours per year. Hours increase based on length of service.
  • Sick: Employees accrue 96 hours per year. All City employees are eligible to participate in the Sick Leave Incentive Program.
  • Holiday: 9 fixed holidays per year, plus 20 floating holiday leave hours

  • Optional programs available to employees include:
