NONAPPROPRIATED FUND POSITION DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Supply Technician
WORKING TITLE: Stock Control Clerk (Clubs)
JOB SERIES: 2005 PAY LEVEL: NF-02

INTRODUCTION:
This position is located within various Club Operations within the Food, Beverage, Entertainment and Special Events (FBES) Section, Business Operations Branch, Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) Division, Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Butler. The position serves as the Stock Control Clerk for its assigned club and its primary purpose is to provide support in efficient and economical purchasing, procurement, and inventory of supply items for the assigned Club operation. Incumbent reports directly to the Executive Chef of the assigned Club operation.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES :
Responsible to the Club Management for coordinating the ordering, delivery, storage, issue, and accountability for all foods, beverages, supplies, and equipment used by the club/restaurant. Reviews, monitors, and rotates consumable stock on a daily and weekly basis. Rearranges stock to maximize available space in pantries, freezers, and reefers. Performs detailed clerical and technical support within the framework of established supply management guidelines by applying standardized supply practices.

Serves as the Responsible Officer (RO) for MCCS assigned facility and base property. Serves as the key person for all activity between the MCCS Supply Branch and Food Branch. Acts as a GCPC holder for the club/restaurant and processes transactions in accordance with RPO guidelines/regulations. Responsible for supervision of all EOM Inventories of foods and beverages and quarterly equipment inventories.

Uses basic math skills, such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing for inventory calculations and yen to dollar conversions.
Responsible for basic maintenance oversight and service requests for the club/restaurant. Brings large scale maintenance items to the attention of the Executive Chef or Club Manager.
Responsible for the club’s vehicle program. Responsible for the club’s HAZMAT and Safety Programs. May provide guidance/direction to other employees assigned to the supply area. Prepares and submits various types of Naval Correspondence, e.g. letters, memorandums and reports. Ensures all tenets of EEO and Safety regulations are followed.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 18 years old AND have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; (Valid documentation will be required upon hire.)
  • HAZMAT and First Responder Required or the ability to obtain immediately upon employment.
  • Must be able to perform prolonged standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and carrying.
  • A valid Government Owned Vehicle (GOV) operator’s permit may be requested of this position at the supervisor’s discretion. If the supervisor determines that this position requires a GOV, the incumbent is required to obtain the license within 30 days of supervisor’s written direction to do so. Inability to obtain or maintain the appropriate licenses may result in disciplinary action.
  • QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to professionally communicate orally, and in writing. Bilingual skills (Japanese and English) are desirable.
  • Must have practical working knowledge and experience with automated supply systems, such as AXC-one, and the ability to apply the complex coding structures for specific supply transactions.
  • Knowledge of supply, inventory, or related fields is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of procurement and purchasing regulations, policies and procedures, and delivery procedures and methods is required. Knowledge related specific to MCCS regulations, policies, and procedures is highly desired.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Programs such as Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
