Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$121,500 – $198,000

This position is within the Lead Optimization Team of BioTDR organization. We are responsible for generating, characterizing, and optimizing biotherapeutics from lead generation to lead optimization and preclinical development. We are searching for a highly motivated and creative scientist to join a talented, multidisciplinary team. This position provides an outstanding opportunity to transform ideas from concept to clinical development.

Responsibilities

  • Optimization of bioconjugation across modalities (e.g. conjugation of small molecules, peptides, oligonucleotides to proteins and antibodies)
  • Optimization of bioconjugate function and delivery (e.g. increasing potency, pharmacokinetics, efficacy, and tissue selectivity)
  • Characterizing protein and conjugate structure, stability, and solution properties using various biochemical and biophysical approaches.
  • Development of companion in vitro cell-based assays to characterize molecule properties and functional activities
  • Effectively collaborate and communicate across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Develop innovative approaches to unlock new avenues of research and accelerate the progress of projects and platforms

Basic Qualifications

  • PhD in biochemistry, protein chemistry, or related field. OR
  • MS in related field and 5+ years of relevant industrial experience.

Additional Skills and Preferences

  • Hands-on experience in protein purification, bioconjugation, and characterization of proteins and conjugates in academic or industrial settings.
  • Strong core proficiency in protein biochemistry, knowledge of protein structure-function relationship, and experience in biochemical analyses
  • Strong preference for ability to develop and perform cell-based assays.
  • Demonstrated self-initiative and appropriate risk-taking behaviors.
  • Exceptional problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary and fast-paced team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple activities and thrive in a setting that requires comfort with ambiguity.
  • An active scientific curiosity and interest for complementary disciplines within the pharmaceutical industry.
