Overview

As our Personalization Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair & upkeep of personalization equipment and associated production equipment including machine setup, information download, software manipulation and product fixtures to facilitate personalization of merchandise. Equipment includes but is not limited to large format printers, laser engravers, embroidery machines, etc.

This position will take place at our Omaha (108th & I) location with the hours of Monday-Friday 10am-6:30pm

Detailed Description

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions

1. Application of electromechanical and pneumatic principles in determining equipment malfunctions and restoring equipment operations
2. Perform preventive maintenance on personalization equipment
3. Work with vendors procuring parts and materials
4. Maintain a preventive maintenance schedule for equipment
5. Record equipment repairs and maintenance
6. Perform equipment movement and setup
7. Perform hardware updates and modifications on equipment as required
8. Understand and troubleshoot personalization related software issues including installation of software
9. May be necessary to work extra hours, including weekends, based on business needs
10. Maintains regular and predictable attendance
11. Abides by all policies and procedures of Oriental Trading Company
12. Work requires in-person collaboration among colleagues and contractors
13. Must be able to attend face to face meetings on short or little advance notice

Marginal Functions

1. Work with equipment manufacturers to maintain and upgrade software and file systems
2. Perform product setup and maintenance of product setups as needed
3. Perform equipment training for trainers on software and hardware
4. Setup and implementation of new equipment
5. Make and maintain jigs and fixtures used in production
6. Advise production operators in item preparation, personalization
7. Coordination for electrical, pneumatic, and data cabling with appropriate departments to facilitate equipment relocation or installation of new equipment
8. Maintain material safety data sheets used in personalization
9. May be required to perform any of the above functions at any of the company locations
10. Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic electromechanical troubleshooting skills and a strong mechanical aptitude are essential within this position

Education

• Technical degree in electronics diagnostics related to computer hardware service and support, related field equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience

• Minimum two years experience in Electro-mechanical and pneumatic service and support

Other Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• General understanding of OSHA requirements regarding use and maintenance of electrical, mechanical and pneumatic equipment
• Ability to walk and/or stand for the duration of the shift
• Ability to squat and/or bend frequently
• Ability to reach overhead to 72″ with both arms
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs frequently
• Ability to occasionally lift 75 lbs
• Ability to carry up to 40 lbs a 10 foot distance
• Ability to occasionally push/pull totes and rolling carts with up to 50 lbs of force
• Ability to work in elevated work areas up to 28 feet high
• Ability to occasionally climb stairs and frequently utilize step stools to access assigned work zones and product
