Job Summary:

Designs, develops and improves new or existing products using customer-specified CAD software, prepares engineering information related to product design. Reports to the Manager (or Supervisor) of W/H Engineering.

The Circuit Design Engineer mainly works in customer offices and creates drawings using customer information. The Circuit Design Engineer has internal contacts with other department personnel regarding ideas, drawings, and products as well as external contacts with customers and vendors in the development of designs, to resolve problems and to provide prototypes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Designs and develop products and specifications which satisfies customer needs within schedule and budgetary parameters. This also may include the modification of existing proprietary designs.
2. Adjust the wiring design specification within customer departments.
3. Provides engineering solutions for customer and/or manufacturing division request.
4. Provides engineering information for manufacturing. (Specification, Cost Quotation, BOM etc.)
5. Plans and directs the fabrication of prototypes to meet customer and internal requirements.
6. Performs other miscellaneous duties when required or requested.
7. Maybe required to work overtime to complete design projects.
8. Actively collect trends by benchmarking other vehicles and distribute those internally.
9. Performs other miscellaneous duties when required or requested.

Skills and Abilities:

1. Has extensive background in customer specified CAD software (i.e. GM uses UGII, Toyota uses Catia etc.)

1. Basic understanding of W/H Circuit Design.
2. Effective ability in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint preferred.
3. Keep in mind “Customer first, Challenge, Kaizen, Teamwork” values.
4. Basic understanding of W/H manufacturing process.
5. Experience of Guest in design.

Education and Experience:

1. Minimum of 1 year experience of Wire harness circuit design.
2. Ability to speak Japanese is a plus.
3. Toyota design experience is a plus.
