JOB SUMMARY
Our labs [stores] are a central part of unique experience – and those labs a result from the marriage of American vintage industrial design and wabi sabi, the Japanese philosophy that refers to the beauty of nature and things as they are, the beauty of the imperfect, impermanent and incomplete. We strive to make each lab unique – the opposite of cookie-cutter – drawing on their uniqueness and original character; yet all our labs have a consistent ‘feeling’ no matter where you find us, as they are a reflection of our values and a 3D translation of our soul.
The International VM operations associate will be joining our SDVM department. In this position, you will be responsible for all aspects of VM operations and design. Your central goal is to help bridge the gap between Retail Operations and in store VM with regards to new VM launches, VM updates and support with new and existing door openings. This role will translate our VM approach into actionable guidelines for markets and lead the evolution of any necessary elements as we grow & scale.
She/he/they will work across functions and teams and partner closely with Creative, Global Marketing and Ops, while also working across all functional groups, markets, regions and with external vendors.
This role is based in our Brooklyn, New York office.

Description
OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Role responsibilities include, but not limited to
Global
- Supervise GMW to successfully add SKU creations, launch bi-annual programs and track collateral projects with GCT
- Work with VM vendors (new/existing) to help ensure packing materials support sustainability
- Control/minimize waste and obsolesces i.e. Visual merchandising end of life: Reuse, repurpose or recycle visual merchandising, props, and fixtures at end of life.
- Maintain VM Ops deck (incl. Window / in-store signage with latest artwork etc) and support Global Marketing and SDVM with any guidelines needed.
- Flagship VM Design: Work with SDVM lead to source special VM items, artworks. Furniture etc and create detailed excel sheets tracking all special pieces
New Store Opening/Renovations
- Oversee and support the creative VM strategy for the Global Window program and roll out of these directives
- Create planogram/product layout for new store designs (via IWD)
- Create New Store opening collateral orders
- Work with team to create print assets for new store openings. Where new assets are required work with the creative team to develop new assets, which are in line with the brand guidelines.
- Work with printer to ensure color matching
- VM dressing at point of launch
- Implement new window installations
- When budgets allow it/when required: Store visits with a focus on Flagship and top doors i.e Ensure our stores reflect the VM strategy by adhering to the VM guidelines
- Follow up with existing doors to do VM checks are required, and offer feedback and guidance to make sure existing stores have up to date VM
- Enforce high Visual Merchandising standards at all times
- Organize handmade supplies required for opening / collaborate with markets to locally source.
- Maintain streamlined schedule for all phases of the upcoming openings / adaptions.
- Forecast and manage inventory of all supplies.
- Keep store matrixes up to date (VM, assets, light box etc)
- Liaise with Suppliers to obtain cost estimates / sample review and work closely with SDVM / PD
- Supervise Wrike; requests/briefs, review final artworks etc
- Send a quarterly update to Global of our latest openings
- Oversee vintage furniture: asset management for existing stock and bulk purchase of vintage furniture’s, sales force tracking, sourcing, budget review, procurement, logistics
Events
- Conceptualize in store events – work with store design where required.
- Work with team to create print assets for event. Work with printer
- Oversee retailer approvals where necessary
- Conceptualize retailer events and pop ups using IWD, provide planograms and direction to support local markets
Market Immersion
- Support the on-boarding of all new markets
- Train field management and retail store staff
- Be part of the bi-monthly Ops call with all markets across international to review general Ops topics.
- Lead yearly VM immersions with the markets, to educate new souls and refresh existing teams
- Support on local sourcing and periodically check in on specs or if markets need support
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to speak to a variety of people to collaborate with all departments, affiliates internally and retailers externally
- Confident using digital applications and willingness to familiarize with new platforms
- Computer literate, particularly in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Ability to think outside the box, work on creative solutions and communicate comprehensibly in trainings and materials
- Multi-tasking and developed commercial awareness
- Excellent administration, organization and time-management skills
- Attention to detail and meticulous approach to all tasks
- Software – competent with Illustrator, Photoshop, IWD
- Experience managing vendor relationships
- Good understanding of applications of new digital technologies (e.g. screens in store) to enhance in-store experience with guidance.
- Expertise in multi-brand environments
- GMW experience
- Ability to render and communicate ideas, flexibility of vision, responsiveness to creative input and great visual sensibilities.
- Flexible approach to work, ability to support changing needs and demands
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, independent environment, and manage multiple concurrent projects while collaborating effectively to leverage cross- functional brand strengths
Pay Range:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $64,350.00 to $93,250.00. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location.
