    As a Senior Software Engineer (Retailer Portals) on the Subarunet Team, you will contribute to the development and evolution of Subaru’s dynamic and multi-faceted retailer portal system. Subarunet serves as a critical hub of responsive web applications designed to connect Subaru with its retailer network, offering seamless performance across desktop and mobile platforms.

    The Quality Data Analyst gathers and compiles critical quality data from multiple sources to generate actionable insights and support quality improvement initiatives. This role works closely with the Quality Data Analysis (QDA) Manager to identify and prioritize legitimate quality topics with a clear rationale for improvement. Through data-driven analysis, the Quality Data Analyst identifies root causes and trends, translating them into practical applications to address market trends, improve quality standards, and resolve issues proactively.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Gathers data and compiles reporting on a regimented (daily/weekly/monthly) basis to assist Quality Data Analysis (QDA) Manager to identify legitimate quality topics. Data can be from diversified perspectives, including but not limited to the examples below:

    • Warranty claims.
    • Telematics (Diagnostic Trouble Code [DTC]).
    • Customer complaints.
    • Customer Advocacy Department (CAD).
    • Carcomplaints.com.
    • National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Vehicle Owner Questionnaire (VOQ).
    • Utilizes web scraping data to gather and analyze customer complaints.
    • Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) service.
    • Retailer service appointment.
    • Quality Monitoring Reports (QMRs).
    • Technical Reports (TRs).
    • Vehicle Buyback and Lemon Law data.
    • Assists QDA Manager in preparing presentation material on a regular basis that needs to be communicated during Fast Action & Solution Team (FAST) team escalation meetings.
    • Collects large amounts of disparate data and transforms it into a more usable format and looks for order and patterns in data, as well as spots trends that can help a business’s bottom line. Identifies data discrepancies and how to resolve them, as well as which sources will produce required data points.
    • Analyzes the data in order to classify it into prolonged cases, trending cases, multiple cases, etc.; shares the data within SOA and North American Subaru, Inc. (NASI) teams.
    • Assists in analyzing data for specific quality topics based on the requests from other NASI Customer Quality (CQ) teams (NASI-CQ2, CQ3, and CQ4), and Compliance team.
    • Assists QDA Manager in creating and updating documentation of team processes. Assists in preparing executive and other meeting materials. Provides analysis and coordination of field quality-related data (i.e., warranty claim cases, cumulative failure rate) from each SOA Information Technology (IT) system and makes a visualization such as graphs and charts by Excel sheet.

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Assists other NASI Quality Assurance (QA) teams with data analysis reports on as-needed basis.
    • Tracks potential lawsuits on set frequency by conducting research on different law firms.

    Required Skills and Abilities

    • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
    • Strong data/business analytics and report development skills.
    • Strong skills with relevant computer systems including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint); competency with Subaru-specific platforms preferred (such as Oracle Business, Tableau, Qlik, North Star, TechShare, SubaruNet).
    • Ability to be effective in communicating with Japanese staff (verbally, non-verbally, and in writing) and accommodating of Japanese business culture.
    • Data analytics capabilities.
    • Ability to manage time and effectively prioritize numerous projects at one time.
    • Self-motivated to take initiative and work independently.

    Travel: 5 %

    Work Environment

    • Hybrid Role: Remote work available two days per week (Wednesdays & Fridays) after the first 90 days.

    Education & Experience

    • BA/BS degree
    • 2 years’ experience

    COMPENSATION: The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $57,500.00- $82,100.00/ year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
