Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$118,500 – $173,800

The Associate Director – Mfg provides oversight for the operational resources assigned to the Process Team including Operations Leaders. The role is responsible for the leadership of frontline leaders in direct execution of manufacturing instructions (e.g., batch production record, SOP’s, etc.) used for the safe manufacture of high-quality medicine. The role serves as the key integrator of the cross-functional team to drive safety, quality, and drive continuous improvement as per the Manufacturing Standards for Operational Excellence and the House of Manufacturing. The Associate Director – Mfg provides leadership, acts as a key integrator, has accountability for all of the Process Team, and ensures that appropriate staffing is in place. The role will ensure equipment is maintained in a state of compliance and processes in a validated state.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
- Ensure adequate staff is available to conduct departmental operations.
- Ensure departmental staff is properly equipped to conduct necessary operations.
- Direct operations leaders to ensure operations are conducted in a manner which is consistent with regulatory and business drivers.
- Escalate issues the appropriate management level when necessaryEnsure operations are conducted following all HSE and GMP requirements.
- Ensure self and direct reports are in compliance with necessary training and applicable qualifications for the assigned tasks.
- Ensure performance management and development plans are in place for all operations staff.
- Use appropriate balance of recognition and discipline to drive accountability of staff.
- Ensure adequate supply of material is available to the downstream customer.
- Serve as a coach and mentor.
- Develop business plans for the department and manage the departmental budget.
- Work with functional leadership to organize, prioritize, and deliver on initiatives to drive continual improvements.
- Conduct Employee Relations investigations.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in scientific disciplines of engineering or chemistry / biochemistry.
- 3+ years of relevant foundational experiences in process engineering, Quality Assurance, process development, or Technical Services / Manufacturing Science
