Who we’re looking for:
Toyota’s Electronic Systems Department (ES4) is looking for a passionate and highly motivated EMC Support Specialist. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) engineering team’s daily operations, both in the office and in the lab, as well as identifying areas for improvement within and outside of the ES4 EMC team. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the department’s objective to develop electronics systems and vehicles that bring delight to our customers.
What you’ll be doing:
Support the vehicle EMC performance development engineers through assisting in planning and reporting activities, including the pre-processing of evaluation data
Assist the evaluation engineering team in the gathering and organizing of EMC evaluation data to streamline the data analysis and reporting processes
Support organizational learning through cataloguing EMC knowledge documents, including presentations, reports, and industry whitepapers
Support the evaluation team by assisting in the documentation of equipment calibration, including antennas, amplifiers, and facilities
Assist EMC testing personnel in test scheduling, setup, verification, and execution
Assist EMC engineers in EMC-related design reviews with various R&D design groups
Proactively improve and create new processes to improve EMC laboratory quality and efficiency, including identifying areas for process automation
Requirements:
What you bring
Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology or an equivalent scientific field
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
2 years of experience, academic or professional, in technical reporting
Exposure to electrical evaluation specifications
Functional understanding of automotive components, including accessory electronics and actuators
Willingness to travel both domestically and abroad up to 25%
Willingness to work in a multi-cultural environment, and an attitude of approachability and capability to work collaboratively across boundaries
A driver’s license valid in the United States
Added bonus if you have
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or training related to EMC testing
ASE certification in automotive technology or equivalent
Hands-on experience in using electrical laboratory equipment such as RF amplifiers, receivers, and oscilloscopes
Japanese language capability
Toyota Middle Class drivers’ license
