Summer Equity Research Analyst (Summer 2025 – 10 to 12 Weeks)

Hours: Monday through Friday (on-site), 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

Summary
The Summer Equity Research Analyst position is an opportunity for a critical and creative thinker to gain an in-depth understanding of equity research from the long-only perspective. We are an international asset manager with a unique multi-cultural environment. The Summer Equity Research Analyst will be immersed into the daily life of an Equity Research Analyst, working alongside a team of analysts to assist in analytical coverage of the firm’s North American equity investments and ESG recommendations. This individual will conduct company specific/industry level research aiding analysts in recommending stock ideas to the portfolio manager; help form an opinion (and construct an argument) regarding an investment idea and communicate that argument efficiently; and share ideas with portfolio managers.
Experience/Qualifications
Unlike many internships, this is not a structured training program and is intended to provide the Summer Equity Research Analyst with the overall NLGIA “real-time” experience.
Therefore, we are seeking an independent and motivated thinker, with a keen interest in the stock market. This individual must possess initiative and strong research skills as well as a demonstrated record of professional, academic and personal achievement.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work within a team and on an independent basis; strong analytical/modeling, communication, and presentation skills; and advanced computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in finance, economics, accounting or related field with strong record of academic achievement is required; progress toward CFA a plus. The candidate must have an anticipated graduation date between December 2025 and June 2027; and a minimum GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
Ability to work on-site Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm in our NYC office.
Previous internships and/or related work experience in financial services is required.
Japanese language skills a plus, but not required.

The expected hourly rate for this position ranges from $30.00/hour – $40.00/hour. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
