Organization Overview:

The Immunogenicity and Biomarkers Group in the Laboratory for Experimental Medicine (LEM) is a diverse and dedicated team responsible for the development, optimization, and validation of novel assays for immunogenicity assessment and biomarker efforts. These assays support internal discovery efforts and clinical studies. Some key areas of interest include clinical immunogenicity assays, preclinical immunogenicity risk assessment, novel biomarker assays, target-engagement assays, and internal sample analysis.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly motivated associate scientist. This role is a part of a multi-disciplinary group of scientists collaborating on the investigation of immunogenicity and biomarkers, which are critical areas for the company.   • Work closely with members within and outside LEM in a highly collaborative environment and support the close alliance with interdisciplinary teams to build sensitive and robust assays to meet the requirements from regulatory agencies.
  • Identify and test critical reagents, for instance, positive control materials, capture antibody, detection antibody, and standard, through commercial resources or partnering with internal scientists
  • Work with discovery scientists and/or clinical scientists to investigate novel biomarkers
  • Perform analysis of clinical samples following the most current practices and SOPs in use
  • Author and document assay development and sample analysis reports
  • Maintain a strong relationship with LEM Scientific Implementation Group (SIG) and Clinical Advisory Group (CAG) to enable successful technical transfers to Contract Research Organizations, optimal performance of the assays, and interpretation of the clinical data, when needed.
  • Maintain laboratory inventory, record, and equipment when needed

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related area that provides the appropriate background

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Willingness to work in a highly collaborative and team-oriented environment
  • Think creatively and willing to tackle new challenges
  • Strong attention to detail, flexibility and learning agility, accurate record keeping
  • Hypothesis based experiment design and problem-solving skills
  • Industry or academic experience in assay development and validation (either ELISA or Cell-based)
  • Knowledge and experience with biotherapeutic modalities
  • Scientific knowledge and curiosity in therapeutic areas, for example, immunology or diabetes
  • Good understanding of relevant regulatory guidance on immunogenicity and bioanalysis
