What we are looking for:

Yazaki is looking for a Automotive Sales Operations Specialist to join our TPNO Business Unit in Canton, MI. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment making lasting impacts on the organization.

The Automotive Sales Operations Specialist will support execution of duties related to Performance Management. The Automotive Sales Operations Specialist should understand, summarize, and explain past, current, and future internal business plans, facts, and results while understanding the automotive market trends. In parallel, the Automotive Sales Operations Specialist needs to have or build relationships and collaborate with the Business Unit (BU) and Core Functions to understand Yazaki business specifications and understand pain points. The scope is of this position is global (North and Central America, Europe and others). Through collaboration with the BU and Core Functions, the Automotive Sales Operations Specialist will moderate meetings and support actions to establish countermeasures to achieve automotive and BU strategies.

What you will be doing:

  1. Run Sales Ops
    1. Act as a champion to support the business unit in the commercial recovery effort by working to understand customer expectations and supporting data from the internal cross-functional team
    2. Lead Sales Operations to share information and drive implementation of best practices, understand Business Unit needs
    3. Create and maintain a read-across database to store sales price quote parameters, price model applications, OEM terms and conditions, best practices, and RFQ feedback
    4. Create a market data repository
    5. Be knowledgeable on each OEM commercial practices
  2. Support MTP progress monitoring
    1. Organize and moderate MTP quarterly review meetings and other related as needed
    2. Make proposal of agenda and contents for the meetings
    3. Monitor progress of each BU activity and target to achieve
    4. Make proposals to improve progress monitoring
  3. Support Approval process
    1. Support for moderating the meeting
    2. Make proposal to improve the process
    3. Evaluate business cases and provide feedback to leadership regarding the viability and accuracy
    4. Manage supporting request for Salesforce Opportunity and LBP
  4. Support efforts to special request from executives
    1. Create specialized reports for executives as needed
    2. Bring any idea/suggestion for special request

Automotive Sales Operations Specialist (IC2) – All responsibilities for Automotive Sales Operations Specialist (IC1) plus:

  • Leads support the business unit in the commercial recovery
  • Reviews commercial information consolidated from BUs for accuracy and make proposal to improve
  • Leads preparation of analysis
  • Prepares entire presentations in an independent manner based on Team objectives
  • Leads team and functional meetings to complete assignments in an effective and efficient manner

What you will bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Marketing, Finance or Economics
  • 1-3 years’ experience strategic planning, sales, marketing, or financial experience in an industrial or manufacturing company, preferably automotive industry
  • Preferred: Experience moderating meetings and supporting financial planning, analysis and/or business case development
  • Domestic/International travel may be required (less than 10%)
  • Fluency in English required; Fluency in Spanish or Japanese also is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel and Intermediate PowerPoint, Access skills a plus)
  • Basic Proficiency in organization, communication, planning, decision making, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
