General Summary of Duties:
The Bartender is responsible for managing and overseeing the bar operations in a restaurant, bar, or hospitality establishment. The Bartender will also be responsible for serving beverages, managing the service bar, and assisting the team where necessary.

Examples of Duties (includes but is not limited to the following):

  • Mix all drinks based on the serving sizes as outlined in the company manual to keep drink costs at a minimum
  • Maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout the shift and be able to account for any and all discrepancies in the final drawer tally
  • Deliver a consistently high level of customer service to each guest and maintain a safe environment
  • Keep bar area clean in accordance with the company’s guidelines as well as the requirements of the local health department
  • Develop an efficient work pace that keeps the customers at the bar in the Duke Lounge satisfied at all times
  • Clear, clean, reset, and maintain station during shift.
  • Monitor and manage bar inventory, including ordering supplies, tracking stock levels, and preventing waste. Conduct regular inventory audits.
  • Train new bartenders and staff on standard operating procedures, drink recipes, and customer service expectations.
  • Participate in and support Bourbon Steak promotional events, happy hours, and marketing initiatives to attract customers and boost sales.
  • Effectively communicate with kitchen staff, servers, and management to ensure seamless coordination between the bar and the rest of the establishment.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Knowledge of all liquor laws and regulations concerning service of alcoholic beverages
  • Working knowledge of acceptable standards of sanitation and proper chemical usage
  • Ability to perform basic math skills
  • Ability to handle money and make correct change
  • Comprehension of POS system
  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment

Education:

  • High School education or equivalent
  • Previous hospitality and bartending experience is required

Typical Physical / Mental Demands:

  • The primary work location for this position is indoors.
  • Will be required to lift items up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch.
  • Must use hands to reach, grasp, handle, pull and push.
  • Must have good near and far vision.
  • Must be able to hear, talk, smell
