Industrial Controls and IoT Product Development Manager

About the Role:

As the world’s largest industrial steam boiler manufacturer, we launched our Miura Connect industrial IoT platform to manage critical utility operations in places like hospitals, universities, and manufacturing plants. As the Product Development Manager, you will drive the evolution of the platform into an increasingly robust, industrial-grade platform connecting Miura, customers, and industrial processes. You’ll be responsible for driving the strategic direction and ongoing development of the platform, ensuring it delivers exceptional value to our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Product Development and Management:
  • Act as the subject matter expert leading development of the platform by working hands-on and leveraging software developers, engineering, marketing, and other teams to translate product vision into tangible features.
  • Use your engineering skills with industrial controls, IoT gateways, PLCs, cloud services, data analysis, electrical engineering principles, software development, and related.
  • Manage the development lifecycle of new features and enhancements following a 6-month update cycle.
  • Monitor and optimize platform performance, addressing technical issues and improving user experience.
  • Travel up to 20% supporting presentations, user training, and site installations.
• Product Strategy:
  • Partner with key stakeholders including Miura Japan to define the long-term vision and roadmap for Miura Connect, aligned with Miura’s values, user needs, and market and technology trends.
  • Drive platform adoption through compelling presentations, installation support, and training programs.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor advancements, advocating for continuous improvement and competitive advantage.
• Commercial Management:
  • Assume P&L responsibility ensuring positive ROI for Miura by setting appropriate pricing strategies and managing costs.
  • Monitor and drive sales performance by setting targets, tracking trends, forecasting sales, and collaborating with sales teams to maximize revenue generation.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies by identifying target customers, defining channels, and creating compelling sales strategies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with industrial controls and product management.
• Understanding of cloud-based technologies, data security, and industrial controls and automation systems such as Linux-based hardware, AWS, Azure, Modbus, BACnet, MQTT, machine learning, and similar.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and inspire team members and stakeholders.
• Bilingual in Japanese preferred
