About The Role:

PanasonicWELL is seeking a dynamic and driven individual to lead Communications for our Japan team. As a pivotal member of our organization, this position entails crafting and executing both internal and external communication strategies while fostering employee engagement initiatives across our global team in Japan and the US. The chosen candidate will play a vital role in establishing collaboration between Japan and US teams, while supporting key business objectives across markets. The ideal candidate is fluent in both Japanese and English and is available to work from Tokyo as needed. We seek a strategic thinker with a proactive mindset, outstanding verbal and interpersonal abilities, and a penchant for thriving in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment. Above all, we desire someone who is deeply passionate about creating solutions to help modern families thrive.

PanasonicWELL is able to employ individuals who reside in (or that are willing to relocate to) the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, and Washington.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work closely with senior executives to ensure all employees are well-informed of the company’s goals, milestones, and engagement activities
  • Coach leadership on communications strategies, make sure the communication team acts as a true partner to the business
  • Support Global Head of Internal and External Communications on strategic communications planning that spans the US and Japan
  • Create and drive PanasonicWELL Japan’s internal communications strategy aligned to company goals and objectives
  • Lead a team of 3 junior team members
  • Work with our leaders and teammates in Japan to share communications best practices and support the organization’s goal to build an organization and culture that enables transformational change
  • Develop and implement communication strategies aligned with the company’s objectives and values.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across teams to inform and align the integrated go-to-market campaigns and
    seasonal opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand voice across all communication
    channels.
  • Extend external storytelling to the internal audience and support on select external PR initiatives that amplify our bran
  • Work collaboratively with other functions, including Strategy, Brand and Panasonic relations to amplify brand and reputation campaigns
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of communication efforts, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 7+ years of experience working in PR and communications teams in tech-, lifestyle- and/or family-focused companies. International experience is a plus.
  • Fluent in Japanese and English
  • Comfort working in fast-growing, fast-paced companies
  • A passion for creative storytelling and an aversion for cookie-cutter PR tactics
  • An appreciation/understanding of how social media works with press to help stories travel
  • Experience translating quantitative and qualitative data into communication strategies
  • Experience briefing creative and content creation teams
  • Comfortable presenting to executive-level leadership
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

This position may be eligible for participation in our employee bonus program. Grade level and salary ranges are determined primarily through the scope and complexity of the role along with a review of the applicant’s experience and skills, as well as alignment with geographic market data and equity with other team members.
