Position Description

Candidate will help others increase language levels from 0+ to 3 with emphasis on reading. Instructor should be prepared to work with students at various levels to effectively teach language fundamentals as well as develop vocabulary and skills.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of relevant experience providing language instruction to adults to include:
  • Teaching/Language instruction.
  • Language testing.
  • Translation from Japanese into English.
  • Course design.
  • Responsible for content management on social media, e.g., blackboard.
  • Editing translator’s translations/interpretations.
  • Quality control translator’s translations/interpretations.
  • Summarizing/gisting pertinent details of text or recorded material providing an easily digested format.
  • Ranking material in order of importance and then sorted according to how the material should be processed.
  • Writing reports.
  • Must pass language testing with ILR 4+ in translation (Japanese>English) and 4/4/4 in speaking, listening, and reading.
