Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Japanese Program Director to lead and manage all aspects of our Japanese language and cultural programs. This role oversees the Preschool Weekday Program and the Saturday Lower & Middle School Programs, ensuring a seamless experience for families, faculty, and staff.
The Director will focus on program growth, curriculum excellence, community engagement, and operational efficiency.
This role will require working on 4 out of the 5 weekdays and Saturdays.
This role reports into the Head of the School.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Marketing & Growth:
• Develop and implement strategies to recruit and retain students.
• Analyze and report on enrollment trends, providing actionable insights to improve retention.
• Plan and host admissions events, including open houses and orientation sessions.
• Oversee the entire admissions process, from initial contact to student onboarding.
• Collaborate with the Head of School to set and achieve enrollment targets.
Community Engagement & Partnerships:
• Establish and nurture relationships with schools, cultural organizations, and community groups.
• Represent the program at conferences, workshops, and community events to enhance visibility and engagement.
• Partner with stakeholders to organize events, workshops, and cultural activities.
Program Development & Management:
• Design, implement, and evaluate innovative Japanese language and cultural programs that meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Develop dynamic curricula, lesson plans, and educational materials aligned with best practices and educational standards.
• Regularly assess and improve program quality to ensure educational excellence.
Leadership & Staff Supervision:
• Recruit, train, and supervise instructors and administrative staff.
• Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and professional work environment.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide mentorship and support to team members.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in education, Japanese Studies, or a related field required (master’s preferred).
• Fluency in Japanese and English, with a deep understanding of Japanese language and culture.
• Proven experience in program management, curriculum development, and team leadership.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Benefits
The annual salary for this position will range between $80,000 and $90,000, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. Benefits include private medical premium partially covered (80%), vision, dental, 401K retirement plan, commuter benefits, and the Flexible Spending Account (FSA).
