Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee daily operations of the accounting department.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
- Enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
- Supervise and evaluate all accounting activities of the team.
- Develop and document internal controls and reporting standards.
- Analyze and revise accounting processes to achieve efficient use of resources.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and ISO/TS (includes ISO 9001) requirements.
- Assist with the monthly and quarterly close process, including interaction with Finance Japanese Coordinator.
- Participate in HLS or other company US GAAP audits.
- Research transactions with the general ledger.
- Develop financial reports and analyses for management review.
- Resolve errors on funds or reconciliations in a timely manner and communicate with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure valuations are calculated in accordance with procedures and verify/review all daily controls.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers for cost-effective and favorable services.
- Implement education and training activities for subordinates to improve their knowledge and skills.
- Prepare financial reports and participate in budget preparation.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by upper management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of financial accounting experience, preferably in an automotive manufacturing setting.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting management, methods, practices, concepts, principles, and procedures.
- Strong leadership experience and ability to mentor a team.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with QAD or similar ERP systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Experience in supervising others is preferred.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems in a timely manner.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62500.00 – $72500.00
