Summary of the Position:

The Manager will play a pivotal role in driving sales and spearheading international marketing initiatives for Rockefeller Center’s premier attractions, including the Top of the Rock Observation Deck, Rockefeller Center Tour, and The Rink. This role demands a sales-oriented, energized, and collaborative professional who possesses outstanding communication and hospitality skills. With extensive experience in driving sales across multiple channels, the ideal candidate will effectively engage the Asia Pacific market, receptive operators, FIT, and group markets, while maintaining close ties with NYC Tourism + Conventions. The Manager will be skilled in managing and nurturing existing client accounts and identifying new business opportunities, including leveraging media and PR channels to enhance market presence. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales, this role is crucial for expanding Rockefeller Center’s international footprint and ensuring sustained growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead and strengthen collaborations with online travel agencies, local receptive operators, MICE and incentives, FIT and Group markets in the Asia Pacific region, while maintaining a strategic alliance with NYC Tourism + Conventions.
  • Manage an international expansion program that monitors metrics and sales volumes from key Asia Pacific markets, enhancing our data-driven approach to regional sales strategies. Craft and implement in-market strategic plans tailored specifically for the Asia Pacific region to boost direct sales efforts and market penetration.
  • Oversee management of international offices in South Korea, China, and other potential regions, ensuring alignment with global strategies while adapting to local market dynamics and fostering growth through regional expertise and tailored approaches.
  • Forge and deepen partnerships with NYC Tourism + Conventions to cultivate a robust pipeline for business originating from the Asia Pacific to NYC.
  • Manage existing accounts and scout for new business opportunities with a focus on leveraging technology and API integration to meet regional needs.
  • Represent Rockefeller Center at industry networking events, trade shows, sales missions, client presentations, and site visits, specifically targeting the Asia Pacific region.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external marketing partners to develop ticket packages and ancillary revenue opportunities tailored for the Asia Pacific demographics.
  • Engage with media outlets, content creators, and PR agencies in the Asia Pacific region to develop earned media that amplifies brand visibility and drives engagement.
  • Organize and facilitate FAM trips designed to showcase Rockefeller Centers offerings to key content creators and marketing/trade decision-makers from the Asia Pacific region.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of sales experience in the travel or hospitality industry.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin, Korean, or Japanese highly preferred.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work autonomously.
  • Creative thinker who challenges the status quo and is forward-thinking in strategy development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be persuasive and comfortable presenting to large groups.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and tech-savvy, with proficiency in embracing new technologies and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have a valid passport and be willing to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 30%-40% of the time.
  • Flexible to manage a work schedule that includes nights and weekends, as typical in the attractions/hospitality industry.
  • Existing relationships with travel trade clients, airlines, and other tourism partners are highly preferred.
  • Required onsite presence for this role.

The base compensation range for this role is $80,000 to $95,000. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, as well as access to our comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) plan (with matching contributions), wellness benefits and all other benefits afforded to full-time Tishman Speyer employees.

This base range reflects a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skill sets, and/or licensure required of an individual in this particular role. The base range is also specific to members of Tishman Speyer’s New York team, as we’ve considered factors specific to this geography.
