Responsibilities

Meetings and Congress Intern overview:

Lilly Meetings and Congress internships offer robust opportunities for students to gain exposure to the organization, leverage key functional skills and make an impact. You will:

  • Contribute to Lilly’s Meetings and Congress organization through your work and recommendations on relevant, challenging, business-critical project(s) in the meeting and events space.
  • Participate in a case study or project to assess and make recommendations on operational aspects of Lilly meetings and congresses. This will include a focus on supplier strategy and integrated, global communication plans/platforms. This project will provide an opportunity to hone your leadership and teamwork skills as you research, model and deliver a presentation to Lilly Meetings and Congress leaders.
  • Learn about a “day-in-the-life” of a full-time Meetings and Congress associate through discussion, participation and collaboration with peer mentors and associates
  • Involvement in various events, which will provide you with a further opportunity to:
    • Gain exposure and understanding of the various areas within Lilly’s Global Business Solutions organization
    • Build your understanding of Lilly’s growing role in the pharmaceutical industry
    • Network with Lilly leaders to gain insight into the function and culture
    • Further explore the city of Indianapolis and learn why it is a top 10 city in which to start a career

Basic Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of Lilly internship program
  • Actively pursuing one of the following degrees, but open to other concentrations of study:
    • Business-related undergraduate degree with concentration/emphasis in General Business, Marketing, Liberal Arts or Event/Hospitality/Tourism Management
  • Will graduate by August 2025
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence
  • Clearly demonstrated analytical thought and aptitude
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Language fluency in English (written and verbal)
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
