Job Description Summary
WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY’s Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures invites applications for a one-semester, part-time teaching professor or lecturer position in Japanese language, beginning in January 2025. Responsibilities include teaching Japanese language courses across different levels. Applicants must possess native or near-native fluency in Japanese and English, a graduate degree (or ABD status) in Japanese linguistics, pedagogy, or a related area, and have experience in teaching Japanese language courses of all levels at the college level (U.S. experience preferred). A strong grounding in proficiency-oriented teaching, a commitment to creating an inclusive classroom environment for students from a range of diverse backgrounds, and a command of instructional technology applied to language learning are also preferred qualities.
