The Clinical Supply Systems (CSS) team provides strategic direction, oversight, and management of clinical processes, information, and technologies within Clinical Trial Foundations (CTF) organization, Clinical Supply and Delivery (CS&D) organization and Greenwood Innovation Center (GIC) to deliver the right drug to the right patient at the right time, every time. We ensure seamless integration of Investigational Product, Commercial Product, and Ancillary strategies to ensure technology enables clinical trial design and execution.

The Associate, Clinical Supply Systems, will ensure timely delivery of Tech@Lilly milestones for operational readiness of clinical supply systems and other technology solutions within the Clinical Capabilities Organization, focusing on CS&D, GIC, and quality support.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create and implement data models to guarantee accurate and efficient data handling
  • Create reports and dashboards that link to multiple data sources like SQL databases, Excel, and other external data.
  • Perform root cause analysis and investigation on system issues via SQL or other database query tools.
  • Review/Provide input into high-level design completed by the technical team with the goal of fulfilling business requirements.
  • Provide clarification of business requirements to other project team members to assist them in the creation of their specific project plans (e.g., requirements, solution architectures, detailed designs, creation of test plans).
  • Work with domain experts within the impacted area(s) and partner groups to define, clarify, and document functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Understand business strategies, processes, and technology as they relate to the clinical supply chain and their associated systems.
  • Support internal audits and external inspections.
  • Identify, monitor, and communicate global customer (internal and external) needs/requirements related to process and/or technology performance and improvements.
  • Support organizational change, communication planning, and training initiatives.
  • Identify project implementation and system execution risks and raise issues appropriately.
  • Support or lead progress on reporting activities and system metrics to leadership, process owners, and end users.
  • Partner with process owners, leadership, quality, and IT to ensure systems are being appropriately applied across the portfolio.
  • Actively engage in and drive shared learning across the team.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-years of experience in drug development, quality, clinical drug supply operations, or clinical supply systems support role.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.

Additional Skills/Preferences

  • Expertise in Microsoft BI stack, especially Power BI, and familiarity with scripting and programming is highly desired
  • Solid grasp of supply chain processes, planning, and supply chain technology.
  • Strong process/continuous improvement experience.
  • Strong data and analytics experience preferred.
  • Good communication skills, ability to collaborate across functions, and a passion for driving innovation.
  • Understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL).
  • Previous experience with systems used within the CS&D organization (e.g., Interactive Response Technology (IRT), warehouse management systems (WMS), Legacy Archive System (LAS), Supply Chain Control Tower, and others) including interfaces or experience in clinical data management.
  • Experience in technology solutions throughout software development lifecycle: design, engineering, construct, testing, deployment, and support of software solutions, platforms, services, and capabilities.
  • Flexibility in approach; able to adjust to unexpected business opportunities while also being a catalyst for change.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and quality requirements governing clinical development.

Additional Information:

  • Minimal travel (~10%), both domestic and international.
  • Work outside of core hours may be required to support the portfolio across the globe.
  • Position based in Indianapolis, rotating between LTC N campus and GIC as needed.
