Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced In-House Service Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in industrial equipment maintenance, high voltage systems, ultra-high vacuum technology, and electronics. Experience in a semiconductor environment and familiarity with electron microscopes will be considered significant advantages. The In-House Service Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of high-tech equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.

Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Repair

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment, high voltage systems, and ultra-high vacuum systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with equipment, ensuring swift and effective resolution.
  • Repair or replace defective components and systems to restore equipment functionality.
  • Monitor stock levels of service parts to ensure adequate inventory is available for repair work.
  • Work with purchasing to source the required service parts, services, and contractual agreements.
  • Checking that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed as expected and follow-up on any deficiencies.
  • Succession planning for process equipment, facilities, and infrastructure.

Technical Support

  • Provide technical support to internal teams and external clients, addressing inquiries and resolving technical challenges.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to enhance equipment performance and reliability.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Clearly communicate the status of facilities projects and maintenance activities. Identify risks, issues, actions, and decisions.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and technical issues.
  • Prepare comprehensive service reports and update maintenance logs.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for improving equipment performance and maintenance processes.
  • Implement best practices for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Support KPIs and company initiatives.

Training and Development

  • Train and mentor junior technicians and new team members on equipment maintenance and safety protocols.
  • Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintaining and repairing industrial equipment, high voltage systems, and ultra-high vacuum systems.
  • Proven experience in a semiconductor environment and/or working with electron microscopes is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic components and systems, with the ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.

Job Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Work performed in a factory setting.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and adhere to stringent safety and cleanliness protocols.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual tasks, including lifting and moving heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds).
  • Dexterity to handle small components and tools with precision.
  • Ability to make decisions independently and to work reliably and responsibly with minimal amount of supervision.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, to support maintenance activities and emergency repairs.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for training and to support other facilities as needed.
