Oiles America Corporation, an innovator in self-lubricating bearing technologies, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will focus on revenue accounting and accounts receivable (AR) collections. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate revenue recognition, timely collections, and maintaining strong customer relationships. Are you the one we are looking for?

Qualification Requirements

  • Possess Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of experience in revenue accounting and AR collections required.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate a sense of urgency when completing tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Essential Functions

Revenue Accounting:

  • Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP.
  • Prepare and review revenue-related journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Analyze revenue trends and variances to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Accounts Receivable Collections:

  • Manage the AR aging report and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Communicate with clients to resolve billing issues and facilitate timely payments.
  • Implement and maintain effective collection strategies to minimize bad debt.
  • Prepare and distribute AR reports to management.

General Accounting:

  • Prepare and file sales tax returns.
  • Gather and file supporting evidence for JSOX internal controls.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
