Your role.
Your work will include, but not be limited to:
- Responsibility for tax matters and returns for partnership, corporate, and individual internal tax clients, including federal, foreign, state and local tax returns, estimated payments and extensions
- Responsibility for monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns
- Responsibility for responding to requests from various taxing jurisdictions for review of tax return information
- Manage a team of tax professionals, including responsibility for mentorship and career growth of your team
- Communicate tax matters and issues to internal tax clients
- Tax research, consultation and preparation of client memorandum
- Identify tax solutions and opportunities for clients including federal or state credits or items generated from tax law changes
- Effectively leverage available technology (i.e. CCH Axcess, Excel, WorkDay) and other resources to maximize technical application to project
- Work to develop relationships with internal clients and others within our internal accounting department
The qualifications.
- 6+ years business tax experience
- Successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or Bar License required
- Technology skills including those required to be proficient with tax preparation software, and experience using common functions and formulas in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical abilities to interpret complex tax regulations and apply them effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to promote positive working relationships, collaborate cross-functionally within different internal firm service departments, and explain/interpret tax information to non-tax people
- Qualified individuals must live within a commutable distance from one of our main offices, and be willing to travel up to 25% of the time.

Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) Information
Compensation is commensurate with technical skills and experience and is provided in accordance with the CO Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
Compensation information posted is based on a position being located in the state of CO. Please review position location for applicable geographic location.
Colorado monthly base range is as follows:
$9,083.33 to $12,500.00
We are pleased to offer eligible staff a robust benefits package. Eligibility and contribution requirements for some of these benefits vary based on the number of hours staff work per week. Highlights include health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance. These standard offerings are effective on the first of the month following your start date. In addition to this, eligible staff are able to take advantage of our Flexible Time Off and various pre-determined holidays as well as a balance fund, 401(k) plan, flexible benefits plans, business-related travel expense, lodging and meal reimbursement for business-related use. A Pension plan is also available for eligible administrative and paraprofessional staff. A discretionary bonus plan is available for eligible staff. Plante Moran also offers Interns and Contractors the option to elect health insurance under our contingent staff medical plan as of the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment in addition to limited paid time sick time. Seasonal staff are not eligible for benefits.
