    I. General Summary: Utilize CAD/CAM and machining skills to perform injection molding tooling changes/repairs. Develop and implement tooling/machining data, manufacturing processes, procedures, and techniques including process improvement activities. Work to improve overall efficiency, product quality, productivity, and profitability in accordance with company and customer requirements.

    II. Essential Job Functions:
    A. CAD/CAM:
    1. Prepare CAD files for design and NC programming
    2. Make 3D model data for manufacturing graphite electrodes
    3. Make data for wire EDM
    4. Make NC data for holes (drill, reamer, tap, etc.), insert pockets, and lifter pockets
    5. Overlay data to verify tooling changes
    B. Machining
    1. Set up and operate several different machining centers (CNC, EDM, Wire EDM etc.)
    2. Set up mold blocks, part (insert and lifter), fixtures and jigs on each machine
    C. Scheduling
    1. Coordinate tool modifications including scheduling and part procurement
    2. Estimate lead times to perform specific functions on each machine center
    D. Maintain specified records, files and documentation

    III. Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

    Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in machine tool/mold making or related field required; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

    Experience:
    • Greater than four (4) years of relevant experience required.
    • Extensive experience using CAD/CAM software
    • Experience with Okuma CNC and Makino sinker/wire EDM a plus

    Personal/Technical Skills:
    • Knowledge of Toyota systems and terminology
    • Ability to use general shop tools
    • Basic knowledge of Injection mold structure
    • Able to read component, assembly, and tooling drawings
    • Understanding and working knowledge of automotive plants and processes/principles, company products, tooling and equipment, and machine operation
    • Comprehensive math skills
    • Effective time management skills
    • Strong problem solving experience
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Ability to adopt a self-directed work style
    • Able to work in a fast paced, multicultural work environment

    Language Skills:
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English required
    • Japanese would be beneficial

    Computer/Software:
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, Lotus Notes/Outlook, Internet, etc.).
    • AutoCAD
    • MasterCAM v9.1
    • MasterCAM vX6
    • CATIA V5

    IV. Work Environment/Conditions:

    Office: Open Office Environment, moderate noise level while performing computer operations.
    Plant: Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protection, etc. may be required in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas. Personal attire standards may apply.
    Travel: Up to 30%
    Availability: Must be able to work any shift and weekends when necessary.

    V. Physical Demands:
    While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, see, and hear. The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time and may be occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds.
